City Council Meeting
As the legislative branch of the City Of Hampton government, the City Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and basic decisions for the city are discussed and decided. City Council members are elected at large.
Notice for all public meetings, along with agendas, are posted in advance of the meeting (see below). Minutes are posted after meetings have concluded and been approved by council (when available).
The Hampton City Council meets the second Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at Hampton City Hall located at 121 N 2nd Street.

For a REGULAR public meeting, the governing body must provide the public with at least 3 days' notice.
For a SPECIAL public meeting, the governing body must provide the public with at least 2 hours' notice.
The goverining body must publish the most current agenda with the date, time, and place within the same notice timeframe if body has a website or social media. This satisfies the notice requirement.
