Water Rates & Policies

The City of Hampton shall assess a fee for the repair and/or replacement of any of the electronic water meter components damaged by the carelessness or negligence of the person, contractor, or company responsible for the damage. The breakdown on the cost to replace components is as follows:

  • Meter Box Lid         $12.00
  • Endpoint                 $160.00
  • Connection Cord    $18.00
  • Meter Box               $40.00
  • Meter                      $150.00
  • Labor                      $125.00

The labor and material cost to the City of Hampton for repair and/or replacement of parts is from $50.00 to $505.00 for the complete standard water meter installation. Based upton these costs, the City of Hampton shall assess a fee not less than $50.00 and not to exceed $505.00.

Penalties: Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate, fail, neglect or refuse to comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $300.00.
